    COME VOLUNTEER WITH YOUR ATLANTA SOCIETY OF FINANCE AND INVESTMENT PROFESSIONALS!

    The Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals is a volunteer-run organization and the more volunteers we have, the more we can do.  So optimize your membership, heighten your visibility and network with other industry professionals by joining a committee and helping to keep the Society well-run and growing. 

    We are always recruiting volunteers, so follow the link above to submit a volunteer profile, or talk to Board members or Committee Chairs at one of our events.  The following is an example of volunteer opportunities usually available, or let us know if  we could be doing something else to increase member value.   Time commitments start from as little as an hour a month or less.

    Corporate Outreach Committee - Develops partnerships to attract potential new members, works to increase awareness of the CFA Charter, the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals, the CFA Institute and its initiatives in the Atlanta financial community.  Committee members will be engaging with HR directors and CIOs at relevant organizations, arranging special events, and other projects.

    Programs Committee - Identifies and secures speakers for regular programming events.  Develops and manages programming geared to sub-specialties, eg private equity , fixed income, private wealth, etc

    Special Programs Committee - Identifies and secures speakers for  Annual Forecasting Dinner, Future of Finance and other events not covered by Programs Committee; seeks event sponsors as required.

    Career Development Committee - In charge of networking events;  also arranges career workshops and professional development events.

    Research Challenge Committee - Co-ordinates the annual Research Challenge (Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama to date).  This involves securing the Universities, the public company to be analyzed, finding and assigning team mentors, report graders, oral presentation judges, and arranging everything associated with success of the final competition.

    University Outreach Committee - Develops relationships with growing list of Universities in Georgia in order to familiarize students with CFA Society of Atlanta, the Research Challenge, the CFA program and other CFA Institute designations.  Additional people are also needed to go into classrooms and talk to students about their jobs in the  investment industry .

    Technology/Social Media Committee - Manages the Society’s ongoing social media presence (Twitter and LinkedIn to date), including providing content for sharing via these media.

    Communications/Newsletter Committee - contributes content for the Society’s twice yearly newsletter; manages other communications to members.

    Advocacy Committee - Coordinates the communication between CFA Institute and Society re advocacy issues, policy etc; works with investment firms and local media to promote ethics; works with local regulators and policy makers on key issues.

    Public Relations Committee - In conjunction with a local PR firm, manages the image of Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals in the media.   

    Education Committee - Teaches CFA exam review courses, helps co-ordinate the  Review Course effort, or proctors CFA mock exams.

    Membership Committee - Sponsors new membership applicants.

    General/Event Assistance - Take photos at events for use on our website and other publications, provide on the day assistance at events like the Investment Research Challenge and other programs.
